On 29 October and during the Plenary meeting of the Industrial Cleaning Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee, the EFCI and UNI Europa adopted a joint statement on the impact of digitalisation on employment in the sector. In the Statement, they acknowledge that a strong engagement from both employers and employees is needed to ensure a smooth and successful digital transition for the sector that leads to increased productivity, higher quality of services, improvements in labour conditions and safety gains. The Statement addresses the topics of data collection and use, work-life balance and narrowing the skills gap. Negotiations leading to the adoption of the Statement lasted for over 5 months and were made with the active participation of EFCI’s SAVET Committee members. A copy of the statement is available here.
