APPLICATION GUIDELINES

General

  • Read the entry form closely and complete all relevant sections.
  • Keep your entry simple.
  • Each entry must be made as a separate submission.
  • The word count for each application is maximum 1,000 words. Any additional words exceeding 1,000 words will not be considered.
  • Be conscious of the award title and objectives to ensure that the service provision is sufficiently comprehensive and reflects the award values.

Categories 1 to 9

A Cleaning Operative and, or a Supervisor submission, setting out how the nominee epitomises dedication, commitment, good technique and certified competence can also be made in each of these categories 1-9. A submission of no more than 1,000 words setting out details of the nominee and why you feel they should win. Please note that the company, site, cleaning operative, supervisor name detailed on the application form will be the name that will appear on all Award Certificates, Presentations, Awards.

For cleaning operatives and site supervisors, the judges will be looking for someone who understands the client’s needs; has good rapport with colleagues and clients and has good knowledge of the equipment and materials required to achieve and maintain high standards etc. Note that the chosen cleaning operative,supervisor must be available for interview on the date of the site visit as it will not be possible for the judge to re-visit.

The Innovation Award

The Innovation Award recognises specific projects or organisation wide innovation that clearly links to organisational needs and moves the business forward. Entrants will need to demonstrate they have successfully implemented something new, an idea or process, that creates added value to you Company or to a specific client. This category covers all aspects of the cleaning delivery so could be product or system based. Entrants should demonstrate how the particular innovation has been developed and what differences it has made and the benefits it has given to the business, to a client/contract or overall improvements. Please include a written piece of up to 1,000 words maximum explaining why this innovation should be nominated in this category.

The Support Staff Award

The Support Staff Award specifically recognises the support given by a team that contributes to the success of the organisation. It can be any position in the organisation that is not client facing such as administration, Health and Safety, support services, HR or IT. Please include a written piece of up to 1,000 words maximum explaining why this team should be nominated in this category.

The Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Award

The Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Award provides the opportunity for Cleaning Companies to demonstrate how they are and have made a difference. It will look at what the Company is doing to drive its ESG strategy and activities with how initiatives align with their commercial success. This can be companywide or as part of an individual client and contractor partnership which will be evidenced during the site visit. Please include a written piece of up to 1,000 words maximum explaining why your ESG approach should be nominated in this category.

The Cleaning Team of the Year Award

The Cleaning Team of the Year Award recognises successful teams demonstrating coordination, cooperation, collaboration, partnership and unity. The entry should provide clear demonstrable evidence of why a particular cleaning team justifies this award. The team can be of any size and with no particular judgement of how many individuals are featured; it’s about telling their story. Please include a written piece of up to 1,000 words maximum explaining why your Cleaning Team deserves this award. Additional testimonials are welcome for this category and will be in addition to the 1,000 word limit.

The Best Initiative by a Small Company with under 250 Employees Award

The Best Initiative by a Small Company with under 250 Employees Award aims to support and recognise the growth of the smaller cleaning companies. The judging for this award category will recognise an achieving business that belies their size and describes how an initiative has made a difference and delivered successful outcomes for the company. Please include a written piece of up to 1,000 words maximum explaining why your initiative deserves this award.

The Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award acknowledges and recognises those individuals who make a positive impact, a significant difference to your business, or on the cleaning industry as a whole, and demonstrate their potential to shine in the future. The award will be looking for those working at the start, early to mid-stages of their career in cleaning who go above and beyond to excel; exceed client expectations and add influence to the overall aspects of cleaning services delivery and sustain a positive outlook. Please include a written piece of up to 1,000 words maximum explaining why this Rising Star deserves this award. Additional testimonials are welcome for this category and will be in addition to the 1,000 word limit.

CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY

  1. Valid applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.
  2. Payment for application fees must be made with the application submission. Entries will not be accepted or processed without full payment. There is an application fee of €295 & Vat @ 23% (€362.58) for each award category. A nominated cleaning operative and site supervisor from the entered premises may be put forward for an award, at no extra charge.
  3. Cleaned Premises for a Small Company with under 250 employees” and “Best Initiative by a Small Company” the application fee is €150 plus VAT (Total fee €184.50) per category.
  4. There is no restriction to entry, provided the site in question is a place of work.
  5. Applicants may enter sites which were submitted previously.
  6. Applicants may submit entries for more than one category/sector.
  7. Entry forms and supporting material will become the property of the ICCA and cannot be returned.
  8. You must answer every question in order to qualify.
  9. Entrants agree to publicity prepared by the ICCA before, during and after the Awards event.
